Introduction |
The Directorate of Research Services under
this newly born University worked as a nodal office to coordinate
location specific, strategic and anticipatory research focuses
on increasing the productivity, profitability and sustainability
of agriculture and allied sectors under the jurisdiction of
university as well as in Madhya Pradesh. Out of the 11 Agro-Climatic
zones of the State, six (4 Fully and 2 Partial) are under control
of the Directorate of Research Services, Rajmata Vijayaraje
Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Gwalior. Directorate of research
is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring need
based production oriented agricultural research. |
Mandate |
Coordination of fundamental and applied
research Administration, planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation of research projects and programmes running at different centres. Publication of research reports, high lights, research papers and research bulletins Maintenance breeding of notified crop varieties and production of breeder seed, hybrid seed and planting materials. Resource generation through consultancy processing cell. Strengthening of national and international linkages to improve the research quality and quantity Facilitating HRDs through national and international exposures |
Function |
• Overall control of the planning,
prosecution, monitoring, compilation and documentation of research
conducted by ICAR, GOI, State and International organization
funded projects in the Vishwa Vidyalaya, excepting research
done by students to meet degree requirement and by teachers
of the to improve teaching ability. • Preparation of research projects and to motivate the scientists for undertaking the research projects from externally funding agencies. • Recommendation for allocation of plan, ICAR, and other agencies budget to various projects at different centres of the Vishwa Vidyalaya. • Establishment of linkages with national and international research organizations/ institutes to promote the collaborative research and faculty exchange programmes. • To promote research under consultancy processing cell and get approval of the sponsored research results through research council of the Vishwa Vidyalaya. • Maintenance breeding of notified crop varieties and production of breeder seed, hybrid seed and planting materials. • To organize and depute scientists to various seminars/conferences/group meetings etc. • To be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor in exercise of the powers and Discharge of the duties under the Act of Vishwa Vidyalaya. • To perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on him by Statutes, Regulations or by the Vice-Chancellor with the prior approval of the Board. |
